Welcome to the Generation Challenge Programme (GCP) McClintock web portal. What is the McClintock Web Site? The McClintock web site is the online portal of technical documentation targeted for non-bioinformatics (i.e. non-SP4) scientists who need to apply GCP crop informatics tools and methodology to their work. Specifically, on this web site, you will find:
Why did we call this site McClintock? The site is named in honor of the famous pioneering maize cytogeneticist Dr. Barbara McClintock who was awarded the Nobel prize in Dr. McClntock passed away on on September 2, 1992 but the impact of her discoveries lives on in modern genetic resources and crop improvement research. Who developed the McClintock site? The tools and methodology published on this web site were developed by bioinformatics experts and software developers in the GCP Subprogramme 4 for crop informatics, in collaboration with the Subprogramme 5 for capacity building and delivery, and the other three GCP scientific-focused research subprogrammes (1 - 3).
